In India, most of the meditation practitioners do it in the early mornings. Brahma Muhurtham is said to be the best time. The reason is because of the freshness of nature, serene and calm mind, less disturbances etc., Everything in nature comes to life during that time.
However, choosing a time for meditation depends on person’s choice and it can be done during any part of the day. It all depends on the available time and the state of mind. But for some people, doing it late night may result in sleeplessness.
It is always advisable to calm our mind with pranayama or breath observation techniques before starting meditation. An agitated or a disturbed mind is not suitable for meditation.
